The Most Extensive Fishing Options in the American West

The fishing program at Henry’s Fork Lodge is truly unique, offering what is the most extensive and diverse set of fly-fishing opportunities of any lodge in the American West. We proudly work with guides from four of the region’s most respected outfitters:

  • Henry’s Fork Anglers – Island Park, Idaho

  • Trouthunter – Island Park, Idaho

  • WorldCast Anglers – Victor, Idaho

  • Big Sky Anglers – West Yellowstone, Montana

We match guests with the right outfitter, arrange guides, and—with enough notice—can help book individual guides. No other lodge we know offers this breadth of choices.

Because these outfitters cover such a wide swath of the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem, our guests have access to an extraordinary variety of waters, including:

  • Henry’s Fork – 10 distinct float sections, plus wadeable reaches

  • South Fork of the Snake – four float sections with islands, gravel bars, and side channels

  • Teton River – three gentle valley sections and two canyon floats

  • Madison River – multiple wade-only and float sections

  • Gallatin River – accessible wading in Montana and Yellowstone National Park

  • Yellowstone National Park – the Madison, Firehole, Yellowstone, Lamar, and Slough Creek

  • Lakes – Hebgen, Earthquake, Henrys Lake, plus a private lake & creek (fee access)

This remarkable diversity serves everyone from first-time anglers to the most seasoned fly-fishers, and supports nearly every style of fishing. Because each river and lake has its own “prime time,” guests always have excellent options no matter when they visit.

Lodge owner Nelson Ishiyama has fished these waters for more than 60 years, including 35 years of deep exploration since creating Henry’s Fork Lodge. He is on-site daily throughout the entire season and is always happy to discuss conditions, strategies, and guide recommendations.

Nelson has fished with nearly every guide in the region since they began their careers, which helps us match each angler to the right personality and style. A great guide day can mean different things—catching big fish, learning new techniques, watching a child, spouse or friend discover fly-fishing, or simply enjoying the beauty and camaraderie on the river. We take pride in getting that match right.

We’re here to help you plan a seamless, memorable trip - from your first inquiry to your arrival at the Lodge. We look forward to welcoming you to the Lodge this season.  Please contact us for reservations or information.
